Those who work in the helping Industries would be wise to consider the importance of self-care.

An example of this is the work of the clinicians in the mental health industries and the day-to-day impact that can have on the person's mental and physical health when they are not supporting themselves to stay detached in order to support others. Especially when clients are going through very extensive and challenging times.

Without self-care the clients may bring the clinicians down with their challenges. Thriving mentally, physically, spiritually and holistically in the helping Industries is key to sustaining a long-term career in the helping industries.

Assertive self-care provides the foundational support for the practitioner to hold themselves in both the rewarding and challenging times. It is also important to avoid adding to our own personal related issues and challenges. As Clinicians its time for us to be aware that we need to self-care to care for others.

One of the most basic ways of self-care begins with taking care of the body in the very basic needs that the body requires in order to function in a vital and clear way day-to-day. This means good quality sleep, healthy eating, a clear mindset the ability to detach from other people's issues and a deep care for oneself.

Self-care is a deliberate ongoing daily ritual that supports us to provide a sound and holding space for others without taking on their personal issues.

  •  Without staying detached the clients can bring the clinicians down with their challenges

  • Thriving as a clinician is key is sustaining a long term career in the helping industries

  • Practice assertive self care or Clinicans will get burn out and even potentially create our own issues

As Clinicians if we are to do the work that we do we need to self-care first to then be able to thrive as practitioners. Honouring our own health and wellbeing provides the gengeniuen care we have for oursleves and therfore others.

As clinicians, IN ORDER TO DO THE work we do with effective sustaining results for our clients we must first self-care.

The work as a practitioner has many dimensions. We support others to heal, we can provide help teaching and even support on deeper levels of awareness and connectivity. If clinicans do not self-care then how can we possibly maintain a clarity to not get burnout? If we are working with clients every day who have many issues and they come to us for support we need to remain detached and deeply connected or else we will take on issues and potentially create burnout.
